The Best James Allen Oval Halo Diamond (and other) Engagement Rings

Seriously, don’t select a James Allen (or any other store) Oval Halo diamond engagement ring until you’ve read this article.

I’ll show you here the best James Allen oval halo diamond rings I found.

I’ll also, at the end, link you to a page at James Allen where you can find even more. (They’re not all easy to find. And I don’t include them all here, just my favorites.)

First, you may want to go through the individual ones I picked out as the best. It’s easy to get lost in a big beautiful shimmering sea of diamond and gemstone rings at James Allen. That’s not always the best way to focus.

  • Morganite
  • Emerald
  • Tanzanite
  • .. and more ..

If you want to see how to choose a diamond while staying completely under budget, then see this lesson.

ENTIRE RINGS (Includes the center stone and the setting.)

These rings are entire. They include the center stone. They also include the ring and the halo/accent diamonds.

1. 14K Rose Gold East-West Morganite and Diamond Floating Halo Ring (6.0×4.0mm)

Dainty Halo Morganite Ring at James Allen

It lists for $1,260. Check the current price.

This ring is the best morganite ring I’ve seen in a while. If I were getting married again any time soon I’d certainly have a look at this. (Engagements aren’t just for diamonds any more.)

This ring would make a fantastic gift as well for Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Christmas or other Holy Day, Birthday, or Just Because.

Morganite is a gemstone which is around 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs hardness scale (Diamond is 10.)

Paired with this rose gold metal, you’re going to so happy because the woman you give it to will love it.

It has 46 diamonds with total carat weight of 0.19.

The eye clean Morganite center gemstone is 0.7 carats. It measures 6x4mm.

Includes the ring, morganite, and diamonds.

2. 18K White Gold Oval Halo Emerald and Diamond Ring (7.0×5.0mm)

This puts the dainty in dainty oval halo, and it would be perfect for Christmas. No reason you couldn’t buy it now.

It lists for $2,600, but check the current lower price now.

The white gold! And the tone of this emerald green! This has Christmas written all over it. It boasts 40 diamonds totaling .52 carats, which when they’re spread out like that is a lot of light and fire. The 7x5mm emerald is 0.67 carats. The emerald is rated as having Fine clarity. Get a much closer view of it by clicking on the image.

One thing I love about this setting is the spray of diamonds beneath the emerald stone, on the underside of the mount:

This design graces the back of the setting with encrusted diamonds too (see the blue arrow). IT’s MUCH easier to see, and much more impressive, at James Allen, watching it on their incredible imagery as it slowly turns and sparkles.

3. 18K White Gold Oval Halo Pink Sapphire and Diamond Ring (7.0×5.0mm)

The color of this is really kind of enchanting.

This ring has 34 diamonds totaling 0.28 carats. (It doesn’t have any underneath the mount.) The center pink sapphire is at Fine clarity. When that catches the light, it’s like the last bit of sunset. Perfect gift for the end of a vacation where a tropical sunset plays a part — or for a engagement ring.

It lists for $2,500. Check the current price (it’s lower).

4. 14K White Gold Oval Halo Tanzanite and Diamond Ring (8x6mm)

It lists for $1,780. Check the current price at James Allen by clicking through the image.

Enjoy the deep blue color of this 1.24-carat Tanzanite ring, the 38 sparkling diamonds totaling 0.3 carats, and the white gold metal. It works wonderfully with evening gowns — and even as an engagement ring. Tanzanite is a 6.5 on the Mohs hardness scale, making it plenty durable. (Diamond is a 10.)

The diamond encrusted shank:

5. 14K White Gold Oval Sunburst Halo Tanzanite and Diamond Ring (7x5mm)

I love this one for the starburst halo pattern. (See how that contrasts with the smoother oval halo patterns on other rings in this list.)

List price on this is $1,160. Check the current price.

Also, it has open-work lattice for the back:

Tanzanite has such a deep blue … it’s like looking into the sky at the perfect moment in the evening. This gemstone is 0.85 carats. The 12 diamonds total 0.3 carats.

6. 14K White Gold Oval Sunburst Halo Ruby and Diamond Ring (7x5mm)

The deep red of this ruby makes a striking contrast with the white diamonds and white gold.

In Ruby, this White Gold Oval Sunburst Halo Ring lists for $2,560. Click to check the current sale price.

It has a 1.06-carat Ruby and a dozen diamonds totaling 0.27 carats.

7. 14K White Gold Oval Sunburst Halo Pink Sapphire and Diamond Ring (7x5mm)

It’s also available in Pink Sapphire. Lists for $1,780 has been on sale recently. Click through to check the current price.

Like the Ruby design just above, this pink sapphire ring has 12 diamonds totaling 0.27 carats. The pink sapphire is 0.94 carats.

RING SETTINGS ONLY (Each price includes the ring and the accent/halo diamonds, but NOT the center stone.)

In this part of the list, I show you the best James Allen halo engagement rings which are sold as settings + diamonds.

You need to add a center diamond to your order to complete the ring.

  1. First, in this view, you’d select the setting.
  2. Then you’ll just select a diamond for the center stone.

You can do these steps in any order. (Select a diamond first or select the setting first.) See how here, if you want a step by step: How to Choose a Diamond You Love and Stay Under Budget

1. 14K White Gold Pave Halo Diamond Engagement Ring Setting

This setting lists for $1,390 (setting only). Check the sale price.

This shimmering beauty is the best James Allen oval halo diamond ring, in my opinion.

A close second is the same ring in Platinum further down the page. (It requires less maintenance over the long run, but I do love the white gold version of this ring.)

contains 36 accent diamonds totaling 0.24 carats. It’s shown with a 2-carat diamond (not included in the setting price). The extra sparkle from the halo (around the center, of course) and the pave diamonds (down the shank) make any diamond seem much larger.

2. Platinum Halo Diamond Engagement Ring Setting (same ring, just in Platinum, and doesn’t have the pave accent diamonds down the shank).

Platinum looks a lot like white gold. However, it’s more durable because it requires no Rhodium plating, like white gold does.

Platinum has such a delicate sheen.

You can see the beauty of platinum here without diamonds on the shank. This ring lists for $1,260. Check the current sale price.

It has 20 diamonds in the halo, totaling 0.22 carats.

I almost like it better without the pave diamonds running down the shank. You can see the clear beauty of the platinum.

On the other hand, diamonds really set it off as well. Check out the one below, which is the same ring, but with diamonds set in the shank.

3. Platinum Pave Halo Diamond Engagement Ring setting (same ring, but this time WITH the pave diamonds)

See how similar platinum looks to white gold! But platinum doesn’t need to be replated every year. White gold does. Platinum does need to be polished out about every year or two, since it will get a patina. (The patina never hurts it, and can always be polished out at any time.)

It retails for $1,690, but check the current sale price by clicking through the image to James Allen.

This setting (the setting only, remember) again comes with 36 diamonds totaling 0.24 carats. You’ll just need to select a diamond for the center stone. It’s shown with a 2-carat diamond.

4. 18K Yellow Gold Pave Halo Diamond Engagement Ring

Finally, let’s have a look at the deeply traditional Yellow Gold setting, with the sparkle to set it off.

This setting retails for $1,610. Check the sale price.

Not counting the center stone, it has 36 diamonds in the halo and on the shank, totaling 0.24 carats.

Which do you like better, in the images above?

  • White gold?
  • Platinum?
  • Yellow gold?

Any one of these top quality, beautiful James Allen oval halo diamond engagement rings is an excellent choice.

EVEN MORE oval halo rings …

I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at these beautiful diamonds and elegant halo settings, both with pave shanks and without.

I hope you’ve perhaps even found the one.

If not, you can see even more from James Allen, along the same lines (some are not oval but many are) in this collection.

As you can see from the arrows, the oval halos are plentiful. James Allen has so many ways to find rings, design rings, and to be inspired by recent customers rings, that I wanted to create a post dedicated specifically to them.

I wouldn’t want you to miss out on a single possibility, so you can get through them all and choose the best one for your situation — desires, budget, and timing.

Plus, they’re just so enjoyable to look at, given James Allen’s amazing video / 3D / 360 degree imaging technology.

So many halos, so little time. Go through the image to get to the live selection.
