“Clint” (not his real name) wrote in using the Contact me form, looking for a round shaped eye-clean diamond of around 1.3 to 1.6 carat.
He was also wondering if now is a good time to buy.
I believe it is a good time to buy. BUT no time of the year is better than others, in terms of the prices of diamonds. James Allen and other stores do have sales and coupons for settings (the rings themselves). But rarely or never will we find crazy discounts on diamonds themselves.
Don’t be fooled by “70% off” or “25% off” sales of diamonds at other stores. If you look closely, you’ll see these diamonds have terrible scores, if they’re graded by a reputable lab at all.
But to the point of “Clint’s” desire:
Here are some custom-chosen diamonds that I found that will satisfy you, Clint. And as always, I’m 100% sure you’re getting the best price at James Allen. I simply have never seen JA significantly beaten in price by other sellers.
The diamonds I found for you …
1. Eye clean SI1 Round Brilliant cut diamond. GIA-Certified. 1.30 Carat. E Color. SI1 Clarity. Excellent cut quality. Check Current Price
“Clint,” this diamond is beautiful. You have to look at it a long time, and blow it up to Super Zoom on James Allen in order to see the two or three tiny specs of inclusions a little ways down inside the top of it. They will be utterly invisible when on a ring. You can barely see them even in the blown up images.
Also, with its GIA Excellent cut, this diamond will sparkle with a full stream of fire.
2. Eye clean SI2 Round Brilliant cut diamond. GIA-Certified. 1.30 Carat. G Color. SI2 Clarity. Excellent cut quality. Check Current Price
“Clint,” I believe this is a lovely savings on a lovely diamond. The cut quality is the same. And by the same lab (GIA). That’s the most important thing.
Also, it is eye-clean in my view. I feel 100% sure of that. You can spot the inclusions after a minute or so of looking at it in Super Zoom. They are out toward the edge, light gray, and not large at all.
The enormous amount of sparkle and fire coming from this Excellent Cut (which as you know is what determines the amount of sparkle) will easily overwhelm those invisible flaws.
Why is it less expensive than the first option, above? Because it has a lower color grade (G, not E). And it has a lower Clarity score (SI2, not SI1).
Consider how you feel about color score. I’ll say this: unless a diamond is put alongside another diamond, it’s not that easy for laypeople to see a difference in color.
3. LAB-CREATED Eye clean SI1 Round Brilliant cut diamond. IGI-Certified. 1.30 Carat. e Color. SI1 Clarity. True Hearts cut quality. Check Current Price
This is the least expensive but objectively the most beautiful diamond here. Note that it is Lab Created. Also note that lab created diamonds are 100% authentic. They’re exactly the same material as Earth-created diamonds. They were just made in a lab, not in the Earth, over 3 billion years ago.
It’s awesome when you think about it: 3 billion years. That’s a lot of nostalgia. And it says something about eternal love.
But so does a lab-created diamond. It will be around for the next few billion years, even if it hasn’t been here until just whenever a lab created it a couple of years ago.
As with the other eye clean diamonds (in my view) on this page, that I selected especially for you, you have to look for some time before you can spot them, in Super Zoom view. They are light, light gray lines, deep in. The sparkle of this diamond will easily overwhelm them, even if you could see them. (I feel that you won’t be able to.)
It’s graded by IGI as “Ideal”. That’s the highest grade on that scale.
In addition, James Allen grades it as True Hearts, which is their highest honor.
